This ceramic bowl was selected for inclusion in the 2023 annual National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition in Cincinnati, Ohio. Sierra was awarded the $500 Val Cushing Teaching Award.

Selection for this award is made by the juror and the scholarship committee from all work in the exhibition. Award donated by Dick Wukich of Slippery Rock, PA to honor the teaching legacy and profound impact upon the field of American ceramics education by Val Cushing.
